Warranties offered on a new Audi

When purchasing a new model, the manufacturer’s warranty applies, and it offers the following:

New Vehicle Limited Warranty
For up to four years or 80,000 kilometers from the in-service date for your vehicle, this warranty will protect you from workmanship and materials defect, no matter if it is for the powertrain, the Audi quattro technology or any other component.
Corrosion Warranty
You will be protected under the Corrosion warranty for a period of 12 years (unlimited mileage).
Warranty on the Anti-Pollution System
The warranty booklet for your vehicle includes all of the information about the applicable coverage for your vehicle’s anti-pollution system; refer to it for more details.
Warranty on the high-tension battery for the e-tron models
The battery module and the high-tension battery on the Audi e-tron offer an 8 year or 160,000 kilometer warranty for any defects on materials or workmanship.

The warranty’s conditions
The Audi certified :plus limited warranty covers your vehicle once the warranty for a new vehicle comes to an end (due to mileage limit being reached or period ending). If the vehicle you wish to purchase is no longer covered by the manufacturer’s warranty, the Audi certified :plus warranty takes over.
What does the Audi warranty on used vehicles include:
- A 5 year/100,000 kilometer warranty from initial in-service date for the vehicle
- The remaining portion of the 12 year limited corrosion warranty
- The CARFAX Canada car report
- 24 hour road side assistance with services
- Customer service open Monday to Friday, from 8 am to 8 pm.
- 7 day/500 kilometer exchange privilege
Warranty on original Audi parts and accessories
All new and refurbished parts sold by Audi are under a 2 year/unlimited mileage warranty that is also transferable to the following owner. Should a part be defective during this time, it will be replaced free of charge.
In the case of accessories, they will be covered by a 4 year/80,000 kilometer warranty if they were bought at the same time as the new vehicle. If they were purchased later, they will either be covered during the new vehicle’s limited warranty period, which is 2 years or 40,000 kilometers, whichever occurs first.
Extended car warranty: yes or no?
You have probably heard about extended car warranties, which allow you to cover the cost of some repairs, once the basic warranty has expired. But are these added protections worth your money?
Firstly, you should know that you can purchase an extended car warranty with your dealership or another supplier; it will allow you to cover unforeseen repairs and other fees, depending on the selected warranty.
If you are thinking of resale, a vehicle with an extended warranty will be more popular amongst buyers, given that it will be covered for a longer period. Moreover, it increases the resale value on your vehicle, since this warranty can be transferred –with some costs-, to the next owner.
But is an extended Audi warranty necessary? Audi vehicles are well known for their reliability, although no one is protected from unforeseen circumstances.
