During a public showing in China, Audi officially unveiled its brand new Coupe SUV, named the Q8. Well, this new model should arrive shortly in our dealership, and Audi Lauzon Laval wishes to tell you a little bit more about the latest addition to the Q line, which will be available in Quebec in October 2018.
Up front, what strikes the eye at first sight is the imposing octagonal shaped single frame grille: a first for an Audi SUV! This single frame grille will be the new face of the upcoming SUV’s for the German manufacturer.
Unlike what its higher number suggests, the Q8 is not bigger than the Audi Q7 model. In fact, it is 66 mm shorter (2.6 inches), and just a little wider by 27 mm (1 inch).
A powerful, sophisticated, and… off road look
The Q8 has a lower a sloping roof line (than the Q7) to respect the tradition of a Coupe model. Strong contours and athletically tight surfaces convey a feeling of power, sophistication, whereas the spoiler, wheel arch trims, door trim strips and diffuser are in a contrasting color, to further emphasize the off-road look.
The Audi Q8 offers four doors without any framing surrounding the windows. Once again, that novelty was design to respect the tradition of the Coupe models, while offering another exclusive feature to its customers.
Among the other exterior features, it is worth mentioning that the rear of the Q8 gets a similar lighting signature to that of the latest A8 limousine. Also, the 2019 Audi Q8 can house up to 22-inch wheels.
An interior that stands out!
The new 2019 Q8’s interior really separates itself from the other Audi SUVs. It combines technology, style, and amenities. We can notice three large screens with the top MMI touch display, items actually found in its car alter ego the A8. The flat air vent strip weaves a link between the Q7, and the Q8.
Even with the Coupe name, and look, the Q8 passengers won’t lack any space while sitting on the rear seats. There is plenty of headroom, and legroom so it does not feel like you are in a Coupe model. Another interesting fact is that the rear seats can be moved forward (or backward) by about 10 cm. The Audi Q8 is a five passengers model.
Audi has managed to create a good compromise between a family vehicle and an exclusive vehicle!
Performance and road holding
True to itself, the quattro all-wheel drive system will offer exceptional driving. The mechanical center differential will distribute power for a 40/60 ratio between the front and rear of the vehicle in order to maintain a very high level of sporty driving.
The adaptive air suspension can be an attractive option to the standard adaptive damping version.
As far as the various engines offered, the Q8 2019 is expected to be available in the 3.0-liter V6 TSFI version and the 2.0-liter TFSI four-cylinder version. Eventually, an hybrid version will also be offer to customers in early 2019.
The price of the new Audi Q8, as well as the exact date on which we will have it for sale, have not yet been revealed. On the other hand, it is already possible to place an order with the team of Audi Lauzon Laval, your Audi dealer for the greater Montreal area.
